How Neil Can Make You Feel... All over again

It's July and I have been thinking for the past few months how to get all the music off my old broken laptop. Without money and without friends who have magic computer skills. Most of my guys friends have that ability and I don't want to be dependent on them for such things. I wonder what my magical skill would be? The ability to asses information to build some elaborate story off of? News making, policy arguments? Oh, I never argue though. I'm way to agreeable.
Anyway after acquiring a 32 GB i-pod touch I found a way to make my ex-computer alive and steal nearly all the music I needed that I haven't listened to in the past 6 months. I was most looking forward to grabbing all my acquired Neil Young and Bob Dylan albums... but as I listen to them while packing, heading for Portland, I've become sad. Digging through old boxes trying to rid myself of paperwork I kept and old notebooks I spent months filling. I read over my red book from last summer and there was a sad evaluation of the song "Vampire Blues" I suppose I was going to share it on air with my listeners but never got around to it. I wrote it on the 4Th of July. Why can Neil make me feel things, all over again, that I had so easily hid away in myself?

I'm not sure but I'm nor happy or sad just impacted by scenes.

So...

Within the past year my 2005 imac G5 has been having a little trouble. Well actually it just crashes a lot when I get onto flashy sites like MTv.com (don't tease me, I do this for writing purposes) anyway my ex took a look at it since he's a computer wizard/ programmer and he doesn't see too much of a problem, just get some lost memory space... Well as a result, I haven't kept up on my food blog because I also cannot access websites like the Food Network. However, I still can provide you with my newest food experiments, which is my endeavour into Thai food. (my favorite of all foods)

Here is my take on a Thai Noodle Salad

angel hair pasta
coconut milk
julienned carrots
bean sprouts
pineapple chunks
dry roasted not salted peanuts
Thai yellow curry paste
crushed ginger
cilantro
meat- or tofu, I prefer some chick pieces cooked in peanut sauce

a couple wedges of lime.

This salad resulted in a great cold noodle salad but lacked some spice until I mixed in a table spoon of the yellow curry paste. I think what could be really good is making my own peanut sauce with cilantro, peanuts, Thai spices and a hint of coconut milk

Do you think there was too much going on in the salad? If you try it out let me know how the results tasted

P.S.
My Drink Recipe

crush fresh ginger with half a glass of ice
add some generic ginger ale (it's more carbonated)
2 shots of whiskey (I enjoy a southern blend)
stir it all up with a lime wedge on the side...

it's refreshing!

Talk about tasty!

I think I'm gonna start new road down blog lane, a blog about all the delicious things I make, this one will be about food. This is basically just to tell you about stuff I make that turn out to be a hit. Today is the recipe for what I had for dinner. Enjoy!

-1/2 lbs. of Superfood Salad (Sold at Market of Choice) This salad contains quinoa, soy beans, brown rice, goji berries, almonds, lemon juice, barely(?) and then some type of juicy current. It's full of savory flavor and crunchy texture.

-Dirty's All Natural Potato Chips 'Jalapeno Heat' Kettle Cooked chips cooked in a cholesterol free peanut oil blend so that it's a whole new crunchier tasting chip!

-Iced Ginger (sun) Tea, some sweetener but not necessary

-Melissa Sando: Chef's choice: fresh chavre (mmmm) a handful of Spicy Mescaline Mix, One whole roasted red bell peper, all on a french demi baguette with some fresh cracked pepper for extra taste! It's simple but fantastic!

I Have Been Better

It has been ages since I've written for myself or even for a blog. I guess the last update was June of 2008. So what have I become, my dearest friend? A slave to the shackles of higher education but being published none the less for my intensive research about one large topic in life: Culture.

Writing about what defines culture this year has taken me for a loop. Not only have I researched its policy, specially cultural policy of the North West and most importantly Portland (published piece for symposium comes out next month, YAY!) but also the way we publicize culture while importing and exporting it. Then after that I decided to learn how to market cultural products, and that's when I jumped on board for KWVA Sweet 16 Birthday Bash (follow link post directly above). And now I'm currently doing somewhat of a wrap-up on culture by piecing together an advertising campaign, visual culture, and cultural theory. How fun! Though it's been long and intensive and I feel like I've fallen off the map of fun, I've taught myself a lot about the important aspects to take in. I've come to this point where I totally understand that my education relies solely on my motivation and not much more than that. Sometimes it's sad to think about how much I've wasted financially on such a lesson but then again where else would I be had I not pursued this? It's hard to say...
I wonder if others feel this way as they come to the grinding halt of something they took so long to accomplish?

Luckily it's almost done!
